In this book, Nouman Ali Khan, through his words, helps to put our lives in perspective through the various issues surrounding the modern Muslim person. Topics like how we as an ummah should react to terrorism and how our hearts should connect back to Allah, are brought to light. I’ve heard some of the stuff written in the book in his online lectures (some of it are basically transcriptions of his khutbah) but nevertheless, always refreshing to read familiar and timeless lessons off the page. I read the entire book with his voice in my head (that’s what happens when you’ve been watching way too much Bayyinah TV and listening to his podcasts) and one of the things I admire about him is his flair for simple and relatable language, using analogies to flesh out concepts in a clearer manner. And that’s always a sign of a good teacher. Content is easy to digest, carrying powerful reminders we so often forget. A necessary book of reminders for us Muslims living in these trying times.
