Stranger In The Crowd

in a crowded mall, cleaving through,
pulsating beats stream into
unwilling ears, the heart forcefully
unspools
a
string
of
dzikr;
blanketing protective layers
around the heart, a rebellious
resistance to the rhythm
of this dunya
that will soon fall apart.
and leave you dancing
on your own.
