This book will make you cry. I warned my friends this when I recommended them to give it a read and when they were done, they all admitted they almost teared / got teary / bawled their eyes out at the last page. Paul did not turn this book into a sad, miserable sob story; it is in fact a celebration of his work and his life. He shared insights on his occupation as a doctor treating his patients, to becoming the patient struggling to fight his stage 4 lung cancer, and how the illness changed his perspective in life completely. I guess what really got me was the part when Paul’s wife, Lucy, wrote about his last moments, about him as a person and how she will continue to carry his legacy with their precious daughter. She closed the chapter and tied his unfinished manuscript positively and poignantly.
